Bellevue’s boys tennis team swept Tiffin Columbian 5-0 Saturday in the Northern Ohio Leauge.

Tate Schoen (No. 1) and Aaron Price (No. 2) won their singles matches in straight sets, while Jared Schnee (No. 3) won in three.

“I can’t say enough about my three singles guys,” Bellevue coach Jim Picciuto said. “To have any success in high school tennis, you need depth at singles, and they’re really playing well right now.”

Jake Chagolla/Nick Bock won at No. 1 doubles over Zach Gaietto/Nate Wise, 6-1, 6-4. The Redmen’s No. 2 duo of Josh Becks and John Smith beat Dustin Digby/Wesley Henckel, 6-2, 7-6(1).

“We beat a good team today, and that’s encouraging for the rest of the league matches we’ll have coming up,” Picciuto said. “I looked at Columbian as a measuring stick of where we’d stack up in the NOL. We’ve got a ways to go, but today helps our record and our confidence.”

Bellevue is now 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the NOL.
