LEXINGTON – John Williams and Ralph Kinsley, both of Croswell, were the big winners Saturday at the Lexington Ice Fishing Contest.Williams and Kinsley caught a 12-pound, 4-ounce northern pike that was the heaviest pike and the heaviest fish.
The pike was 36 inches long and was worth $150 to Williams and Kinsley. According to a news release from the Lexington Business Association, 24 anglers participated in the event.
The team of Josh Quain and Vito Palazzolo, both from Emmett, received $40 for catching the longest perch from 9 to 10 a.m. and the longest perch of the day. Their fish measured 73/4 inches.
All proceeds from the contest will be used to purchase fish to stock in the Black River near Croswell’s Swinging Bridge.
