Bishop Gorman retains top spot, Wayne moves to No. 17 in Super 25 football rankings

Several Super 25 high school football teams had close scrapes this past week, but with only Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) losing, there wasn’t a lot of movement in the Super 25 rankings.

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) retains the top spot after knocking off Centennial (Las Vegas) 63-7 in the playoffs as Biaggio Ali-Walsh ran for 209 yards and three touchdowns.

St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) moved up from No. 8 to No. 6 as Sean McGrew ran for three touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass in a 70-7 defeat of Servite (Anaheim).

One of the week’s big gainers was Wayne (Huber Heights, Ohio), which improved to 11-0 and up four spots to No. 17 with a 56-14 playoff defeat of Reynoldsburg as quarterback Messiah deWeaver threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns.
