Tanner Burnham was named the Player of the Game for Mountain Home, pitching five strong innings, allowing four runs and four hits. Burnham and Payton Smith had two hits each to lead the Blue Devil offense.
Paulino was led by Elijah Diaz, who went 2 for 4, with a triple in the fifth inning and a single in the sixth. Kelvin Marte was lights-out in relief of Euniel De la Rosa, striking out three in 12/3 innings of work.
Mountain Home wraps up pool play at 11 a.m. Tuesday against Bismarck, N.D., the Midwest Plains regional champion. The Blue Devils are in need of a victory to qualify for bracket play, which begins Thursday.
