MURFREESBORO – Donors to Middle Tennessee State University athletics reached deeper into their pockets than before as the Blue Raider Athletic Association recorded record-breaking numbers in the fiscal year ending 2015.
The Blue Raider Athletic Association registered records for the best month, the best quarter and one of its best years during 2015, Keith McCluney, associate athletics director and development, said in a Thursday news release.
“These accomplishments are direct results of the passion and commitment of our donors and our staff,” McCluney said in the release. “Through the investments of our members and their generosity we were able to reach new fundraising heights.
“We have asked our members to step up and we continue to be blown away by their response.”
The Blue Raider Athletic Association includes members who make annual commitments and investments to support Middle Tennessee Athletics.
The association recorded annual fund contributions of more than $1.4 million during the fiscal year 2015. The total exceeded annual fund donations from the previous fiscal year by 9 percent, McCluney said.
According to the release, the final quarter of the fiscal year generated more than $800,000 in revenue for the annual fund and combined with capital gifts, the figure reached more than $1 million.
Combined with capital gifts, the Blue Raider Athletic Association generated more than $2.4 million in the 2015 fiscal year, the third-highest total in the organization’s history, the release stated.
“I want to personally thank each and every member of the Middle Tennessee family who made a gift in 2014-15,” McCluney said in the release. “The Blue Raider family continues to grow and the generous donations made throughout the year demonstrate the renewed commitment to Middle Tennessee athletics and our extremely talented student-athletes.
“Our mission is to provide Blue Raider student-athletes with a first-class experience while following our core values. With the generosity of more than 1,500 members of the Blue Raider family, we continue to not only maintain that experience, but grow it as well. We are certainly not finished in this endeavor, as we continue to move forward together.”
