JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– The Bolles gym was so packed for the Bishop Kenny-Bolles rivalry game Friday night that security had to turn guests away.
Before the game former Bolles basketball coach Buddy Ward was honored for his impact on the Bolles School with an endowment created in his and his wife Betty’s name to support the team.
The court was also renamed The Buddy Ward Court.
Ward coached at Bolles for 19 years during which he led Bolles to win back-to-back state championships in basketball in 1988 and 89.
For the final score, Bolles pushed past Bishop Kenny to win it 53-52.
