The Bossier Bearkats got their District 1-3A race off to a positive start on Friday night with a 59-41 win over BTW.
Playing some of their best defense of the season, the Bearkats (8-10, 1-0) were also solid on offense behind 16 points from Larry Robinson and 13 from Kentrell Hardy. The Lions got 13 from Marvonte Alexander and 12 from Bobdrick Thomas.
Huntington 52, Loyola 49: At Loyola, the Raiders picked up a key road win in District 1-4A action by topping the Flyers on Friday night. Gabriel Gilliam poured in 13 points and Demetric Alexander added 12 for the Raiders. Dominique Kennedy pumped in 22 and John Russell 15 for the Flyers (15-8, 1-1).
Captain Shreve 81, Haughton 56: At Haughton, thanks to 22 points from Toronco Loston, 13 from Tyrone Earles and 11 from Jason Houston, the Gators (12-9, 1-0) opened District 1-5A play with a win. Jamarcia Banks led the Bucs with 14, while Damien Sears added 13 and Tay Woodard 11.
Mansfield 56, Green Oaks 51: At Mansfield, Jerrian Rogers dropped in 16 points and Levonta Hall added 13 for the Wolverines (6-10) against the Giants.
Minden 63, Benton 57: At Benton, the Tide ran their district record to 2-0 with the road win after getting 16 points from Davian Moore and 12 from Kevin Hamilton. Benton (6-12, 0-2) lost despite 20 from William Givens and 12 from Jerriyun Lawrence 12.
Stanley 66, Pleasant Hill 55: At Stanley, Michael Crawford’s 23 points led all scorers in the non-district win over Pleasant Hill. Alize Elam added 13 points and Jaquazias Clark 12 for Stanley while Jaleen Scott topped Pleasant Hill with 22.
Evangel 66, North Webster 59: At Evangel, the Eagles (16-7) are 2-0 in district after getting 19 points from Jacob Jennings, 15 from Calvin Daniels and 14 from Kris Frazier in the win. Lyntravious Gipson scored 20, while Devin White and Willie Lee added 15 apiece for the Knights.
Woodlawn 59, North DeSoto 52 OT: At Woodlawn, the Lady Knights (10-8, 2-0) got all they wanted from the Lady Griffins before getting the win. Senior Brittney Kendrick poured in 25 points and freshman Mary Caldwell 12 to lead Woodlawn. Carla Davis with 17 points and Mallory McConathy with 16 led North DeSoto.
Southwood 60, Parkway 13: At Parkway, the Lady Cowboys (7-12, 1-1) were dominating defensively, allowing no more than 5 points in any quarter. Jaiylan Brown (14), Kiera Tillman (11) and Chazity Thomas (10) led the way offensively.
Red River 54, Lakeside 12: At Sibley, the Lady Bulldogs were dominant from start to finish in the District 1-2A contest. Kimberly Burton with 14 points and Lakeya Lewis with 12 led the way.
North Caddo 78, Lakeview 55: At Vivian, the Lady Rebels converted 40-of-45 free throws, including 19-of-20 by Jasmine Thomas in the District 1-2A win. Thomas and Keyerra Easter scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds apiece, while Sumer Williams scored 21. Morgan Payne led Lakeview with 13 points.
Bossier 50, BTW 39: At Bossier, Sh’Michael Johnson’s 13 points helped the Lady Bearkats move to 2-1 in district action. Alysha Crismond added 10 points.
Evangel 64, North Webster 24: At Evangel, with Rachel Johnson and Madison Laboy scoring 13 points apiece, and Tierra Young adding 12, the Lady Eagles (13-9, 2-1) picked up the easy win.
Airline 61, Byrd 54: At Byrd, Kei McCoy had a breakout offensive game with 29 points in leading the Lady Vikings (15-5, 2-0) to the road win in 1-5A. The Lady Jackets lost despite four double-digit scorers in Ronesha Murf (20), Amber Jackson (11), Ainsley Tipton (10), A’lexus Dean (10).
Haughton 54, Captain Shreve 33: At Haughton, Chelcy Swint and Ebone’ Green scored 13 apiece to lead the Lady Bucs.
Mansfield 67, Green Oaks 49: At Mansfield, Carrie Woodley led four Lady Wolverines in double figures with 20 points in the home win. Kieona Ross (16) Ashlyn Jacobs (12) and Kayla Drain (16) also led Mansfield. Janey Jones scored 13 and Jalisha Brown 10 for the Lady Giants.
Minden 56, Benton 55: At Benton, Sha’Terrea Batton scored 18 points and Tiaga Pugh added 14 for the Lady Tide in the District 1-4A win. Gabby Jackson scored 16 and Brandy Harris scored 15 for the Lady Tigers.
Airline 10, Southwood 0: The Lady Vikings got two goals apiece from Madi Walter and Haylie Travis and single scores from Peyton Brown, Savannah Howell, Ashley Hein, Kloee Daivs and Lauren Pilcher in the win.
