Central Wisconsin Christian has hired Josh Gibbons as the head coach of its varsity boys basketball team, Crusaders Director of Athletics Gregg Zonnefeld announced Monday morning.
Gibbons was the head coach at Markesan from 2007-2012, compiling a 65-51 record in his time there. He spent a dozen seasons as a part of the Hornets’ staff.
“We are pleased to connect our kids with an experienced coach with varsity experience,” Zonnefeld said in a press release. “Josh places a premium on integrity and hard work in his own life and his coaching, and we feel that this is a great fit with our faith-mission here at Central Wisconsin Christian.”
Gibbons takes over for Dan Ten Napel, who resigned in the spring after seven seasons coaching the Crusaders. Ten Napel had a 106-63 record and won two regional titles. Ten Napel will remain the head coach of the varsity volleyball team.
