STAUNTON – Stuart Hall’s Adam Pickett has reached the 1,000-point mark for his basketball career.
That goal came Friday night against Mount Carmel Christian as the Dragons raced to a 27-14 first quarter lead, and went on to defeat the visitors 75-41 in a VACA Central District contest.
The third quarter marked the milestone for the Stuart Hall senior. He needed 28 points to reach the 1,000 mark for his career.
Late in the period he reached that goal to become only the second player in school history to surpass the 1,000 point mark.
Pickett ended with 28 points while Cole and Colin Whitmore added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Stuart Hall (9-1) travels to Highland County on Tuesday.
In the middle school game, the Dragons lost 39-36. Jadie Lawrence had 15 points and George Zhang tallied 10.
