Tekonsha – Dreyson English led St. Philip with 20 points as the Tigers rolled to a 66-49 victory at Tekonsha on Tuesday night.
Also for the Tigers, Drew Lantinga put up a double-double with 10 points, and 12 rebounds and Hunter Haley added 10 points, nine assists and three steals in the win. English also grabbed four rebounds as St. Philip improves to 11-5 overall and 7-2 in the SCAA.
“We started out slow, but we played a lot better defense in the second quarter and started to pull away,” St. Philip coach Dino English said. “Our press worked really well, we rebounded very well and got some big put-back baskets.”
(AT) Portage Central 63, Lakeview 58: C.J. Foster hit a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to tie the game and hit another 3-pointer at end of the first overtime to tie it again before the Spartans fell in double-overtime to Portage Central. Foster had nine points and three assists for Lakeview. The Spartans were led by Hunter Bost with 10 points and eight rebounds with DaLeon Graham adding eight points, seven rebounds and five blocks.
Climax-Scotts 79, (at) Burr Oak 39: Dallas Froberg scored 27 points with four assists to lead Climax-Scotts in the win. Also for the Panthers (14-3, 10-2 SCAA), Ethan Vosburg had 15 points and Cody Campbell scored 13 points with seven rebounds.
(AT) Marshall 57, Parma Western 49: Marshall had four players get into double figures in scoring as the Redhawks improved to 8-7 overall and 4-7 in the I-8. Forrest Jackson and Montez Brewer had 12 points each to lead Marshall with Tyler Torrey and Chris Thomas each adding 10.
Bellevue 75 (at) Camden Frontier 44: Leading Bellevue in the victory was Dawson Morgan with 22 points, four steals and four assists. Also for the Broncos (11-5, 8-4 SCAA), Cam Shaw had 13 points and four assists, Jarrett Waterbury had 10 points with four assists, Tony Reid had 10 points, 12 rebounds and six assists and Ryan Madry had seven points and 10 rebounds.
(At) Athens 61, Reading 43: Jonah Harris had a huge double-double with 18 points and 17 boards to lead Athens in the win. Jacob Iles added 16 points with six assists, Austin Cole had 13 points and Sebastian Hamilton had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Indians (3-11, 1-7 Big 8).
Union City 66, Homer 58: Union City’s Jalen Boes led all scorers with 24 points. Other top scorers for the Chargers (13-3, 7-3 Big 8) were Darren Austin with 15 points and Colin Kreger and Seth Bruce with 10 points each. Homer was led by Hunter Weeks’ 16 points.
Concord 56, (at) Quincy 37: Quincy saw its perfect season come to an end with this loss to Concord. For the Orioles (14-1, 9-1 Big 8), Chase Cook scored 11 points with four assists, Nick Haberl had eight points and six rebounds and Jake Jodway had six points and six rebounds.
Marshall Academy 65, Barry County Christian 40: Isaac Mead scored 22 points and John Grafton had nine points and eight rebounds in the win for Marshall Academy.
(At) Lansing Christian 58, Maple Valley 32: Grant Adrianson led Maple Valley with 11 points and six steals in the loss.
