The Wappingers boys lacrosse team defeated host Brewster High School on Monday, 12-5, and improved to 5-1.
Jack Decker led the way with five goals and one assist. Kienan Garrett was behind him with three goals and two assists.
Nino Herandez (two goals), James Pratt (one goal, two assists), Austin Lyle (one goal) and Travis Ventura (three assists) chipped in.
Justin Squeo stopped six Brewster shots in goal.
“I thought it was our first complete game that we played in terms of effort,” Wappingers coach Brian Kuczma said. “Mentally it was the first time we played with a high IQ that allowed us to possess the ball in critical times and stay out of the penalty box.”
Wappingers (5-1) returns to action Saturday at 4 p.m. against Lakeland/Walter Panas at home.
Haldane 16, Peekskill 2 — The Blue Devils earned the road win and improved to 3-2, with Peter Hoffmann accounting for four goals and an assist.
“It was a complete effort by my kids,” Haldane coach Ed Crowe said. “We’re starting to come together a little bit and understand what we need to do to win games. We’re starting to click.”
Tucker Hine provided three Haldane goals and two assists, while Aidan Draper had two goals and three assists. Matt Balducci and Hudson Gell each scored their first career goals.
Haldane visits North Salem on Wednesday.
