BOULDER – Broomfield will make an appearance in the state championship game once again, only this time in 5A. After suffering a heartbreaking loss in the 4A state title game a year ago, the Eagles made the transition to 5A this season and made it look easy.

In Coach Croell’s final season as head coach the Eagles are an impressive 25-2 and dominated Cherry Creek 71-42 in the Final Four Thursday night.

Brenna Fankell was impressive as well, finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds on the night, while teammate Katie Stirling added 23 points.

Broomfield will play ThunderRidge for the 5A state championship at the Coors Events Center in Boulder on Saturday at 3 p.m.
