CANTON – Coshocton’s Bryce Philabaum wanted to make memories at the Division II state swim meet at C.T. Branin Natatorium.
He made those and some history as well.
The junior finished seventh in the 100 backstroke, completing the race in 53.75 for the first podium finish in about 40 years for a Coshocton swimmer.
He earned All-Ohio honors in the process.
“I’m just thrilled I could be a part of this whole experience and I’m especially proud I could represent our county so well,” he said. “I love my team and I loved this swimming season.”
Philabaum also joined junior Cody McVay and seniors Brian Rogers and Patrick Brouse to finish 20th out of 24 teams in the 200 medley relay (1:43.08) Thursday.
