Asheville High alum Crezdon Butler is trying to make the Detroit Lions’ roster at cornerback.
Making one-handed interceptions won’t hurt his cause.
Tuesday was the second day of training camp for the NFL team in Allen Park, Mich. Butler snared his pick on a deep ball intended for Lance Moore.
The Lions themselves called it “the play of the day” on their official Twitter account.
Detroit is the seventh team in the pro football career of Butler – he signed a futures contract in January.
The 2005 Citizen-Times All-WNC Player of the Year has previously played pro for Arizona, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Tampa Bay and Washington.
Butler was selected in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft by the Steelers and has 22 career tackles with three forced fumbles.
