Stephen Decatur

Tyler VanSice, senior, 152/160

Season expectations: “Ideally, we compete for the Bayside title and try to go undefeated in the regular season which we have not done for 4 years now.  North Caroline opener on Dec. 9 will have a lot to determine that as well as a late January match against Polytech.  We have six injuries and some weight issues currently which will affect our success for a while.  If we can get those fixed we will have a great season.  I’m looking forward to it.

We will struggle to fill all the weight classes. We had several talented kids decide they didn’t want to put in the work anymore and we also lost several to first term grades. The group we have is very focused on improving daily and individual success and have been working extremely hard every day in the room.”
