Carmel quarterback Michael Viktrup committed to Air Force on Sunday.
Viktrup, a 6-1, 200-pound senior to be, also had offers from Army and Navy and considered Colgate, Fordham and Illinois State. Viktrup played in eight games last year to help Carmel to a 14-1 record and Class 6A state finals appearance. As a junior, he was 61-for-101 and passed for 627 yards and six touchdowns. Viktrup also rushed for 578 yards and seven TDs.
Tight end Rhett Myers, another in-state player from Columbus East, is also committed to Air Force.
Carmel begins its season on Aug. 21 at Hamilton Southeastern.
