Mike Delvecchio, Nick Rosas and Zach Skeiter led the Central boys volleyball team to a 2-0 Class A Central victory over Manchester on Thursday.
Delvecchio had 13 kills, nine digs and two aces; Rosas had two digs, 25 assists and two aces; and Skeiter had 17 digs as the Golden Eagles (6-2, 5-1) edged the Hawks 25-19 and 28-26. R.J Boucher added four kills and two digs, and Nick Pelliccia had two kills and five digs.
Manchester’s Ryan Hartnett had seven kills and five blocks; Kyle Pecora had three kills, three blocks, two digs and six assists; Colton Hartnett had four digs; Joseph Hackett had 11 assists; and Tim Ruth had four kills and seven blocks for the Hawks (2-7, 1-5).
CBA 2, Freehold 0: CBA’s James Higgins had three aces and two digs; John Arege had five kills and three aces; and Nick Osborne had six kills, two digs and two aces for the Colts (7-4). Justice Jubilee had four assists, Jake Dente had two kills, and Riley Shea had two kills for the Colonials (3-7).
St. John Vianney 2, Red Bank Catholic 0: The Lancers (10-2, 7-0) produced game scores of 25-20 and 25-21 as Mitchel Ionescue had eight kills and seven digs; Brian Ross had six kills and six digs; Andrew Zimms had 21 assists, 10 digs, four kills and two blocks; and Alex Politi had five kills and three digs. Red Bank Catholic’s Bryce Sullivan had 16 assists and two digs; Ike Isenhour had 12 kills and six digs; Tyler Connolly had 13 kills; Nick King had five digs and four kills; and Tim Yachnik had five digs for the Caseys (6-4, 4-3).
Colts Neck 2, Howell 1: The Cougars (7-2, 6-0) outlasted the Rebels (4-3, 4-2) as Chris LoMauro had two aces, three digs, 11 kills, Spencer Matthews added two aces, five digs and nine kills and Tyler Lee had two aces and 14 digs. Howell’s Jake Brown had three aces and nine kills, Ryan Goodwin had four blocks and two kills and Ryan Snyder ha five kills and one block.
Barnegat 10, Lacey 9: Madison Musico had three goals and one assist, Hannah Fahringer two goals and one assist and Nicole Federovich had two goals as the Bengals (6-1) edged the Lions (1-6) in a Class B South game. Lacey’s Carly Chimenti, Rachele Cort and Casey Moyer each had two goals and Emily Lane had two assists.
Wall 8, Shore 7: Rachel Noble scored the game-winning goal with 1:51 left in the second segment of overtime and Brenna Aery (14 saves) that made a save with 15 seconds left as the No. 5 Crimson Knights (8-0) upset No. 2 Shore (8-3) in a nondivisional game. Noble finished with that one goal while Kate Kinsella had three goals and two assists and Maddie Birch and Becky Kurfehs each had two goals. Shore’s Mary Kate George and Allie Reiser each had two goals and Sarah Giordano made eight saves.
