Senior quarterback Mason Moran said that he will withdraw from Chandler High after this quarter ends, and finish his diploma online in order to get to Oregon State by the end of March so that he can be part of the school’s spring football workouts.
“I will still be able to come back and walk (graduate) on May 24th with the 2016 class (at Chandler),” Moran said.

At Oregon State, he could be backing up former Chandler quarterback Darell Garretson next fall.
Garretson, a transfer from Utah State, will be battling for the starting job after sitting out this season, per NCAA transfer rules. Nick Mitchell, who started five games for the Beavers this season, is leaving the program.

Garretson will be a junior. He was forced into duty at Utah State his first two years and performed well. He walked on at OSU, but the coaches guaranteed him a roster spot.
