Chaplain is a 2011 Warhorses graduate who played college baseball for Brevard. He was named the South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year last spring.

Chaplain was a two-time All-Western Highlands Conference selection in high school and also played basketball for the Warhorses.

ACA remains the last Buncombe County baseball program to win a state championship (2008).

“Baseball at ACA is heading in the right direction and Coach Chaplain will be a significant part of that,” Lions athletic director Joe Johnson said.

“He has a rich baseball background, playing for good coaches and being mentored by his dad, Darin Chaplain. Coach Chaplain will bring a great work ethic, passion and enthusiasm to our baseball leadership and players will enjoy playing for him.”
