CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Catholic opened the fully renovated Keffer Stadium on the right foot Friday night, steamrolling Rocky River 34-6.

The Cougars’ special teams set the stage early, with Matt White returning a punt deep into Rocky River territory in the first quarter. The Cougars finished it off when quarterback John Walton took a sneak into the endzone for a one-yard touchdown. On Rocky River’s ensuing possession, Catholic forced a fumble, leading to another touchdown on the first play of the second quarter.

At the half, Charlotte Catholic extended their lead to 27-0 when Jaret Anderson reached the endzone on an 11-yard touchdown run with less than a minute remaining in the half.

Charlotte Catholic begins South Meck 8 play next week at home against Berry Academy.
