CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Following the signings of 19 athletes on early signing day, Charlotte Catholic added another dozen to the list of student-athletes on Wednesday.

The dozen Charlotte Catholic athletes were headlined by football player Matt Kowalewski, who returned in 2014 following a devastating injury in 2013. The class also included Joe Scibelli, one of the leaders of the Cougars’ basketball team.

Soccer was the most represented sport in the gym, with eight players signing scholarship offers. Those players were Megan Archer, Chris Efenecy, Jamir James, Price Keough, Kevin Lynch, Brendan McDonough, Jack Miller, and Jordan Poff.

Other signings at the ceremony included volleyball player Bridget Wilkinson (Belmont Abbey) and Alex Lapiana (Tufts University, football).
