Cleveland Central Catholic High School has hired Jordan Duke as its next varsity boys basketball coach, athletic director Maggie Lash announced on Monday.
Duke served as an assistant coach for the Ironmen during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons, and served as the squad’s interim head coach during the 2014 postseason.
“We are very pleased to have Jordan on board as our head coach,” said Sister Allison Marie Gusdanovic, the school’s principal, said in a prepared statement. “He is a wonderful role model for the young men at Central Catholic.
Duke replaces Jeremy Holmes, who is now the head coach at Cleveland Heights. In his one season at the helm of the school’s boys hoops program, Holmes led the Ironmen to the Division II state championship game.
“Duke’s knowledge of and experience with our program are big assets in hiring him as head coach,” Lash said in a prepared statement. “He is well respected by the players and they will able to pick up where they left off last season.
Looking at the roster and the schedule I got real excited today!— Coach Duke (@JDuke__) August 5, 2015
Last winter, Duke served as the associate head coach at Cuyahoga Community College.
