SOUTH BURLINGTON – Erin Dwyer’s hat trick powered the Saint Michael’s women’s ice hockey team to a 5-0 victory over Daniel Webster College on Friday evening at Cairns Arena.
Amanda Kempainen and Katherine O’Brien each added a goal for the Purple Knights (2-6-1), while Abby Burke had six saves for her second shutout of the season.
Ariana Kresic made 49 saves for Daniel Webster (0-9).
•Northeastern 5, Vermont 1: Paige Savage scored two second-period goals as part of Northeastern’s three-goal frame and the Huskies downed Vermont in Hockey East action at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
Kendall Coyne scored her NCAA-best 22nd goal of the season for Northeastern (12-4-1, 8-2-0), Hayley Masters and Maddie Hartman also tallied a goal and Sarah Foss made 23 saves to earn the win.
Alyssa Gorecki found the back of the net for the Catamounts (3-14-0, 3-6-0). Molly Depew (12 saves) and Madison Litchfield (22 saves) split time in goal.
•Middlebury 3, Connecticut College 2: Middlebury moved to 4-1 on the season after Carly Watson broke a tie in the third period to help the Panthers past visiting Connecticut College.
Maddie Winslow and Elizabeth Wulf each had a goal for the Panthers (4-1, 3-0 NESCAC), while Watson dished out two assists. Marisa Dreher earned the win with 17 saves.
Stephanie Izzi and Katlyn Paiva scored for the Camels (1-3, 0-3). Katherine Chester stopped 30 shots in goal for Connecticut.
•Norwich 6, Bowdoin 0: Norwich scored four goals in the second period to pull away from visiting Bowdoin.
Robyn Foley had a goal and an assist for the Cadets (7-2, 6-0 NEHC), while Muranda Toews, Rachel Bellio, Sarah Schwenzfeier, Adelle Murphy and Heidi Amato all tallied. Bryn Labbe dished out two assists and Laurie King made 23 saves to pick up her third shutout of the season.
Lan Crofton and Sophia Lattanzo combined to make 32 saves for Bowdoin (1-3-0, 1-1-0).
•Babson 5, St. Michael’s 1: Matt McMorrow had two goals and one assist to help host Babson skate past St. Michael’s.
Eric Salzillo scored the lone Purple Knight (2-8, 1-6) and Jack Ouellette dished out an assist. Chris Johnson made 31 saves for St. Michael’s.
Michael Phillips and Rob Devaney both posted one goal and one assist for the Beavers (8-1-1, 5-0), while Tim Searles chipped in one tally. Jamie Murray stopped 25 shots for the win.
•Middlebury 2, Connecticut College 2 (OT): Middlebury’s Vincent Gisonti scored with 49 seconds remaining to tie the game and salvage a draw against host Connecticut College.
Mark Lyman had the opening goal of the game for the Panthers (1-2-2, 1-0-2) and Liam Moorfield-Yee made 37 saves.
Connecticut College (1-3-2, 0-1-2) answered with a pair of goals from Joe Birmingham before giving up the tying goal in the final minute. Tom Conlin stopped 36 shots for the Camels.
•UMass-Boston 4, Norwich 3 (OT): Garrison Sanipass scored in overtime to lift UMass-Boston to a win over visiting Norwich.
Nick Pichette scored in the third period to tie the game at 3 for the Cadets (7-3-0, 5-2-0 NEHC). Paul Russell and Payton Baldillez also tallied. Braeden Ostepchuk and Ty Reichenbach combined to make 30 saves.
Alex Demchuk, Colin Larkin and Tyler Bishop each had a goal for UMass-Boston (7-1-1, 5-0-0). Billy Faust had 29 stops.
