The Coloradoan has named its male Athlete of the Week for contests Oct. 19 through Oct. 25.
School: Resurrection Christian
The performance: Stevenson was perfect Saturday night as the Cougars clinched their second conference title in a row. He threw just five passes, but he completed all five for touchdowns. He had 154 yards, with an average of 31 yards per completion and the five touchdowns were spread out to five different receivers, including an 80-yard strike to Evan Anderson as No. 2 Resurrection Christian moved to 8-0. He was also perfect as the kicker on all five extra-point attempts.
Each week the Coloradoan will name one male and one female high school athlete of the week. Winners will be announced online Monday afternoon’s and in print on Tuesday.
Nominations can be submitted via coloradoan.com/athleteofweek and must be sent by noon Monday for the previous week’s action. The competition is open to all of Northern Colorado, including Fort Collins, Windsor, Loveland and Greeley.
The awards are part of the Coloradoan’s commitment to honor local high school athletes, culminating in the Northern Colorado Sports Award show in May with guest speaker Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos.
