Coshocton’s Georgia Brown competes in the 200 meter individual medley Saturday during the 2015 Coshocton Invitational at Coshocton High School.
COSHOCTON – The Coshocton and River View swimming teams had several strong individual performances and solid team results Saturday in the Coshocton Invitational at Janet Jones Mulligan Natatorium.
On the boys side, the Redskins were second with 70 points while the Black Bears were fourth with 37.
Individually, Coshocton was led by Bryce Philabaum, who won the 200 IM (2:25.74) and was runner-up in the 100 backstroke (1:05.35). Brian Rogers also had a good day, winning the 100 freestyle (56.14) and was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.5).
The duo also teamed with Cody McVay and Patrick Brouse to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:45.96) and finished runner-up in the 200 medley relay (1:57.96).
McVay was also second in the 200 IM (2:31.8) and third in the 100 butterfly (1:10.77), while Brouse was second with teammate Talon Babcock in the 50 free (27.44).
Brendan Dickson won the 50 free (27.14), Dalton Hammond was third in the 100 free (1:01.46) and the duo combined with Nate Cooper and Andy Smith to finish third in the 200 medley relay (2:08.32) and 200 freestyle relay (1:50.61) to lead River View.
For the girls, Coshocton was fourth with 29 points while River View finished tied for fifth with New Philadelphia with 20.
Georgia Brown was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:32.94), while Sydney Ringenberg was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:33.45) and 200 IM (3:06.25) for the Redskins.
Lydia Els won the 500 free (6:18.71) to lead the Black Bears.
Dover won the boys (116) and girls (85) team titles.
