Talon Babcock was nearly unhittable on the mound.

Yet, his bat proved just as vital, as Babcock singled home Hunter Haas in the bottom of the eighth inning, sending host Coshocton past Maysville 2-1 in non-league baseball action Tuesday at Lake Park.

Babcock tossed a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk and also doubled in the win.

Damon Miller added two singles, including a RBI single in the sixth to tie it at 1 for the Redskins (2-0), and Haas scored both runs.

Aaron Chappelear took the loss, allowing two earned runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and two walks in a complete game. Nate Vallee, Sky Clark and Michael Sode all had singles for the Panthers (0-2), who scored on an error with two outs in the third.
