Michigan State and Michigan have survived the cut to five suitors for five-star basketball recruit Miles Bridges.
The Flint native who plays prep basketball in Huntington, W.Va., made the announcement on Twitter today, also including Kentucky, North Carolina and Indiana as possibilities.

But it seems that playing alongside U-D Jesuit star Cassius Winston in college is at least on his mind. Both are prospects in the 2016 recruiting class. Bridges is a 6-foot-6 small forward. Winston is a 6-foot, four-star point guard.
Speaking at the Peach Jam basketball event in South Carolina, Bridges told zagsblog.com that, if he goes to U-M or MSU, “I’ll have Cassius go with me. But if I go to Kentucky or anywhere else, Cassius won’t go with me.”
Winston is believed to be strongly considering the in-state Big Ten rivals, along with Ohio State, Maryland, Iowa State and others. After Bridges released his final five today, Winston tweeted at him: “Wayne State university please.”

In the past, Bridges has mentioned that he’s feeling pressure to choose MSU. Spartans coach Tom Izzo and U-M coach John Beilein — and a slew of other college coaches — were on hand last week to watch Bridges at the Peach Jam.
