Dutchess teams filled most of the top spots at Saturday’s Northern Counties Track and Field Championships at Arlington High but Brewster’s Jaynie Criscione dominated the girls jumps.
Criscione won the high jump (5 feet, 2 inches), the long jump (16-00.75) and the triple jump (34-11.25) to help the Bears secure third place in the girls 11-squad, team competition. Arlington finished first.
Brewster’s Brooke Pagan took first in the girls discus (97-09).
Brewster was fourth in the boys team competition, which Beacon won.
Bear Brent DiVittorio captured the boys high jump (6-0) and teammates Bret Weiss, Eric Fedio, Kevin Hazelwood and Mike Delfay took the boys 4×800 relay (8:23.69).
Among other top area finishers, Mahopac’s Kristen Huber was second in both the girls 100 and 400 hurdles and teammate Angelo Martinez was second in the boys long jump.
Brewster’s Florence Cuomo was second in the girls steeplechase; Carmel’s Josh Beauchesne was second and Mahopac’s Frank Reale third in boys javelin and Carmel’s Benito Muniz was second in the 800, with Delfay finishing third. Hazelwood was also second in the boys 3,200, with Mahopac’s Tom Caruso third.
