Colts Soccer Rolls Along

On Tuesday, the Chartiers Valley boys JV and Varsity Soccer teams both beat Brashear 3-0.

The JV game kicked off at 5:15 at Cupples Stadium. The first half remained scoreless until the last couple of minutes with goals from Jon Uher and Sam Bellin. Left Midfielder Nate Wood put in the third and last goal of the JV game.

When we asked Nate Wood about the game he said “We played a good game out there today, but there is always room for improvement”.

The Varsity game began at 7 o’clock. The Colts went into to the game prepared and to not take Brashear lightly even though the Colts have a better record.

Noah Zaijeck put in the first goal for the Colts in the first half. During the second half, Captain Sean Tinney scored, and teammate Charlie Kovach also scored. The Varsity boys won 3-0 against Brashear.

On Thursday the Colts took on Moon Township.

JV played first at 6 o’clock. After a hard fought first half for the Colts the score remained 0-0.

During the second half of the game, things got a lot more physical. JV player Evan Kraus seemed to twist his ankle at the end of the second half.

The JV game remained scoreless at the end. The varsity game started at 7 o’clock. The first half of the soccer game remained scoreless for both sides. In the beginning of the second half, team Captain Sean Tinney put in the game winning goal to give the Colts the 1-0 win over Moon.

Overall, the Colts are moving in a positive direction early in the season.
