JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — 13 years ago Dale Green started the martin Luther King Jr. Basketball showcase. His idea was to invite prep basketball teams and their fans to watch hoops on the same day we observe MLK day.

The showcase has grown from just two teams in the showcase’s inaugural season to 30. Schools come from all of the state of Florida and Georgia to participate.

The four day event concludes on the same day our country observes one of the most influential men during the civil rights movement.
