CROOKSVILLE – Steven Taylor pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts to lead Crooksville to a 4-3 win against West Muskingum on Wednesday in the Muskingum Valley League.
West took a 3-1 lead after three innings, but Taylor pitched four shutout innings and the Ceramics (4-2, 3-1 MVL) responded with four runs to earn the win.
Cody Harper singled in the fifth and scored on a fielder’s choice to break a 3-3 tie in the fifth.
Nate Daniels hit a solo homer in the third and Landon Hinkle added an RBI single for the Ceramics, which didn’t make an error.
West (4-5, 2-3) took a 2-0 lead in the first, taking advantage of Al Lynch’s RBI single, two walks, a wild pitch and hit batter.
Phelan Shutts’ RBI double in the third made it 3-0.
Lynch added another single, while Seth Mirgon suffered the mound loss, allowing three earned runs in five innings.
