Overland basketball player, Davis, will travel to Italy after being selected a 2nd time for the adidas US Select Team
KUSA — On June 3rd, adidas announced its roster for the adidas EUROCAMP in Treviso, Italy from June 6-8, 2015. The Overland Trailblazer’s De’Ron Davis received his second selection to join the camp again after being selected for the U-18 team as one of ten high school basketball players last season.
Davis will attend the camp to play other top prospects from Europe, while getting looked at by NBA scouts and other professional leagues teams’ from around the world. The adidas EUROCAMP site reads:
“In its thirteenth year, adidas EUROCAMP provides a global stage for the top international prospects to practice, compete and interview with NBA teams and other professional leagues leading up to the NBA Draft. Players will also attend clinics and learn from current and former NBA coaches and players including Ricky Rubio (Minnesota Timberwolves), Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors), Theodoros Papaloukas (Euroleague star), Nick Nurse (Toronto Raptors) and Mike Longabardi (Phoenix Suns).
The players on this team are rising stars, honing their skills to get ready for their next levels of play. Davis will join: Edrice Adebayo (PF/C, Northside – NC), Rawle Alkins (SG, Christ the King – NY), Braxton Blackwell (SF, Christ Presbyterian Academy – TN), Mustapha Heron (SF, Sacred Heart – CT), Dewan Huell (PF/C Miami Norland – FL), Frank Jackson (PG/SG, Lone Peak – UT) Mario Kegler (SF/PF, Arlington Country Day – FL), Josh Langford (SG Madison Academy – AL), TJ Leaf (PF, Foothills Christian – CA), Kobi Simmons (PG, St. Francis – GA).
Davis helped lead his team the Overland Trailblazers to a 2014-15 5A state championship win with a 16.3 PPG and 11.3 RPG. The Trailblazers stormed through the state tournament and took the state championship by a final score of 55-42. According to the adidas EUROCAMP site, the adidas EUROCAMP has produced over 90 players who have played or are currently playing in the NBA or Euroleague. Some of the players who attended the camp include: Danilo Gallinari (Denver Nuggets), Serge Ibaka (Oklahoma City Thunder), Andrea Bargnani (New York Knicks), Marco Belinelli (San Antonio Spurs), Nicolas Batum (Portland Trail Blazers) and Goran Dragic (Miami Heat).
