CHICAGO – Dominican (Whitefish, Wis.) center Diamond Stone scored 14 points to help the East knockoff the West, 111-91, in the McDonald’s All American at the United Center Wednesday night.

In the process he managed two firsts: According to Stone, a Maryland signee, this was the first game that he’s ever only grabbed three rebounds and it was also the first game he managed to dish out a swollen, black eye to the referee.

Granted, it was by accident; an inadvertent elbow, but a first nonetheless.

During a TV timeout near the end of the first half the referee for the walked over to ESPN analyst Jay Williams, who was standing courtside, and showed him his badly swollen, black eye.

Williams laughed and asked how he got it and the ref smiled and pointed to Stone.

“Diamond! Why did you do that?” Williams joked. “Come on, man!”
