Come Wednesday all eyes in the college basketball world will be fixated on Durham, N.C., when the North Carolina Tar Heels head down Tobacco Road to duel with the Duke Blue Devils.

Naturally, opinions abound on who will prevail in the bitter rivalry; especially when it comes to their signees.

We caught up with every player from both schools’ 2015 recruiting classes and asked them to make predictions about the game.

And, yes, each player promised that objectivity would remain at the forefront of their picks.

We’ll see.

The UNC Recruit

Luke Maye, Hough (Huntersville, N.C.), F, 2015

And the winner is… “Oh North Carolina for sure!”

Here’s why… “I’ve watched them play a lot and I feel like the way that they play team basketball will be the difference. We’ve got the inside presence inside with Kennedy (Meeks), even though Jahlil (Okafor) is a strong scorer, I think Kennedy will be able to defend him and score in the post. Marcus Paige has been incredible scoring the last few games; with his passing and J.P.’s (Tokoto) passing I think we’ll get good looks. I think we’ll put a lot of pressure on their guards too. I’m confident that we’ve got this one.”

The Duke Recruits

Chase Jeter, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), C, 2015

And the winner is… “Duke, no question.”

Here’s why… “We have key guys in Quinn (Cook), Tyus (Jones), Justise (Winslow), and Jahlil (Okafor). Jah creates matchup problems and with Tyus and Quinn as leaders it helps create plays for everyone. Justise takes advantage of every possession offensively and defensively.”

Luke Kennard, Franklin (Franklin, Ohio), SG, 2015

And the winner is… “Duke!”

Here’s why… “I think offensively we’ll cause them a lot of trouble. They’re shooting the ball really well with Quinn Cook, Tyus Jones and Justise Winslow; I expect them to have a pretty good night. We’ve gotta control Marcus Paige; can’t let him start getting off because he leads that team. I think if we can keep him under control and rebound the ball then we should have a really good night.”
