East Lincoln remained undefeated with a 77-37 victory over Maiden.

MAIDEN, N.C. — The East Lincoln Mustangs kept their undefeated season going in impressive fashion Friday, pounding Maiden 77-37.

Super sophomore Sage Surratt was a one man wrecking crew, scoring 27 and pulling down 12 rebounds, both game-high totals. East Lincoln surged out of the gates, putting Maiden down 21-11 after the opening quarter. In the second, it was more of the game, with the Mustangs smothering the Blue Devils’ offense, limiting Maiden to just 8 points en route to a 39-19 halftime lead.

After the halftime break, East Lincoln went back to work with its highest scoring quarter in the third. The Mustangs rattled off 24 points, putting Maiden down 63-32 going into the fourth quarter. From there, the Mustangs cruised to the easy victory.

Four East Lincoln players reached double figures, led by Sage Surratt’s 27, including older brother Chazz Surratt with 11. Underclassmen Cameron Dollar (12) and Hayden Duggins (11) also reached double digits in the game.

East Lincoln returns to action this Friday when they host West Lincoln. Maiden has two games this week, starting with a Tuesday night home battle with Bunker Hill before visiting Lincolnton on Friday night.
