LANSING – Everybody appreciates a great high school sports play, moment or event. And in the digital age, those plays are being captured on video and shared among family and friends on social media.

We want to highlight the best of those moments, and we need your help.

Whether you are a coach, student, family member, school faculty or anyone else with a cell phone or video camera, we’re asking you to help us publish the best videos of the week on LSJ.com.

The videos can be of any high school sports-related event: A great play from any sport, a pep rally, a marching band performance, someone being honored or a team choreographed dance at practice. If you find it interesting, we want to see it.

Every week, we would like you to submit your best videos using the Twitter hashtag #LSJVOW. (If you don’t have a Twitter you can email them to jledwards@lsj.com.)

Videos have until 5 p.m. Sunday to be submitted. From there, we’ll select the five best submitted videos and post them online for you and our other readers to vote on. The online poll will open every Monday at noon and run through Friday at noon. After a winner is selected, a story detailing the winning moment will be written.

And next summer, we will chose 10 of the best videos from the entire school year and ask you to vote on the video of the year. The winner will be recognized at the Lansing State Journal Greater Lansing Sports Awards banquet.
