Having rolled through the Kentucky portion of its schedule, the Elizabethtown High School girls’ basketball team took the No. 1 ranking in the first Courier-Journal Litkenhous Ratings released Thursday.

Here is a link to the complete rankings: https://usatodayhss.com/2015/elizabethtown-tops-girls-basketball-litratings

The Panthers are 14-2, including an 11-0 record against Kentucky opponents. Their average margin of victory against Kentucky competition is 30.6 points, with their closest win coming against No. 4 Allen County-Scottsville (67-53).

E’town, which lost to Butler in last season’s state final, is No. 21 in the USA Today Super 25 national rankings. The Panthers’ only two losses came to nationally ranked opponents — No. 7 Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman (55-43) and No. 11 Miami Country Day (61-60).

Following E’town in the Litratings are Henderson County (10-1), Holmes (14-0), Allen County-Scottsville (10-3) and Covington Holy Cross (11-3).

Five teams from Louisville are in the Top 20 — No. 10 Butler (10-2), No. 14 Mercy (10-4), No. 17 Eastern (8-1), No. 18 Male (12-0) and No. 20 Manual (11-4).

The Litratings determined the 12 Louisville-area schools that will compete in the 43rd annual Republic Bank/Coca-Cola Louisville Invitational Tournament set for Jan. 27-31 at Bellarmine University’s Knights Hall.

Joining Butler, Mercy, Eastern, Male and Manual in the field will be Sacred Heart, Bullitt East, North Bullitt, Christian Academy, Central, Pleasure Ridge Park and Bullitt Central.

E’town, Henderson County, No. 16 Ashland Blazer and Franklin County already had been selected as the four out-of-town teams for the LIT.

Tournament director Joyce Seymour said Assumption (2-8) failed to qualify for the LIT for the first time in the event’s history. Collegiate and Holy Cross both had higher Litratings than Bullitt Central but will compete in the All “A” Classic instead.

This will be the first LIT to include all three Bullitt County schools.

Here are the LIT pairings (seeds in parentheses):

* Tuesday, Jan. 27: Christian Academy (9) vs. North Bullitt (8), 3:30 p.m.; Bullitt Central (12) vs. Manual (5), 5; Pleasure Ridge Park (11) vs. Sacred Heart (6), 6:30; Central (10) vs. Bullitt East (7), 8
