A near perfect overtime period of shooting the basketball lifted Faith Christian to a 78-74 boys basketball victory at Bethesda Christian on Friday night.
The Eagles (4-4) were 3 of 3 from the field and 6 of 7 at the line in the five-minute extra period after going to overtime at 66-all. Matt Rumpke dominated inside for Faith Christian with 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting to go along with a game-high 15 rebounds.
Cam Berning added 20 points before fouling out. Nick Borga just missed a double-double of his own with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Junior guard Jake Mlagen led Bethesda (1-9) with 37 points.
Luis Medina scored a team-high 16 points before fouling out for the visiting Hot Dogs (3-8).
Carter Taylor added 10 points and Jarrod Smith grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.

The Bearcats used full-court pressure to force 11 turnovers in the first quarter alone and 18 by halftime while building a 27-point lead.
.Junior and University of Dayton verbal commit Jayla Scaife had a big day for the Bearcats (10-4, 3-2 North Central Conference), scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. She had 10 points in the first quarter, including a jumper just before the buzzer in that period to give her team a 23-9 advantage. She added seven more points in the second quarter, then played more limited minutes in the second half while her team maintained a large lead over the Bronchos (2-14, 0-5 NCC).
Lexi Randolph led Lafayette Jeff with 10 points, and teammate Madison Flanagan added eight.
