imageOnce again, the fall sports season at Bellarmine Prep was a success. Due to the losses of both the soccer team and football team this past weekend (Nov. 14-15), the season has come to a close.

As his first year at head coach, Coach Brian Jensen led the football team to another successful season. The team finished with a 6-3 regular season record, then beat Curtis in districts to make it to state. In the first round of state, the team had a tough loss to Moses Lake 28-27, eliminating them from playoffs.

Boys cross country had one of the best season in the program’s history. They won their first league title in the last 20 years. They then went on to place second at state behind senior Jack Yearian who won the title individually.

Girls cross country captured another league title this year behind a consistent group of runners. They then went on to place 14th at the state meet.

The volleyball team had tough task of defending their three state titles in a row after losing many key starters from last season. Under first year coach Caroline Meines, the Lions won another league title and then placed second at districts. They ended up losing in the second round at state to West Valley and took 6th place in the tournament.

The tennis team continued their streak of placing top two in the league. This year they placed second in league and third in districts. They are sending Jonathan Dudley who placed sixth in singles at districts, and Joe Lyon and Kane Vu, who placed second in doubles at districts, to state in the spring.

The Bellarmine girls soccer team made another strong run this year. They placed second in league and districts. They then made it to the quarterfinals at state and lost 2-0 to Gonzaga Prep.
