Rank-Team-2015 Record-Last week’s rank
1. Rumson-Fair Haven (5-0, 1st)
The Bulldogs have been the best team in the Shore Conference all season long. They’ve allowed only two goals in five games, and their stingy defense is performing at a high level right now. This past week Rumson-Fair Haven defeated St. John Vianney and Holmdel to improve its division record to 4-0 against Class A Central opponents. The Bulldogs could go undefeated in the regular season.
2. Wall (6-0, 2nd)
The Crimson Knights (5-0 in Class B North games) won three games last week as they picked up victories over Long Branch, Red Bank Catholic and Ocean. Thus far, Wall, the Class B North division leader, has only allowed two goals this season, and the Crimson Knights have one of the best defenses in the Shore Conference. Wall’s next big game is Oct. 5 against Freehold Township.
3. Freehold (3-0, 4th)
The Colonials swept the Middletown public high schools last week with a 3-0 win over Middletown North and a 4-0 win over Middletown South. Freehold has outscored its opponents 16-1 this season, and the Colonials are looking like a serious contender for the Shore Conference Tournament title. 5. Shore (5-2, 6th)
Since an 0-2 start to the season, The Blue Devils have won three straight games and are one of the hottest teams in the Shore Conference. Shore’s most recent wins came against Keyport, Lawrenceville and Henry Hudson. Shore’s next big game is Saturday against Voorhees.
