Nic Fink and Melanie Margalis gave a breaststroke clinic at the Greater Morristown YMCA last night. Fink, a Morris Twp. native who attended Pingry, swam at that Y while growing up and had the 100 breaststroke record until 2012.
Fink and Margalis helped members of the Dolphins team — 119 swimmers aged 7 to 18 — in the water and signed autographs.
Both Fink and Margalis are Georgia alumni traveling on behalf of USA Swimming. Both are members of the national team and have qualified for the Olympic Trials.
“Our swimmers were ecstatic to work with swimmers who are at the top of their field,” head coach Tina Cecala said in a press release. “We hope that they learned a lot from this experience and were inspired to continue to improve in this sport.”
