MOORESVILLE, N.C. — On the biggest day of the year in high school sports, Lake Norman High School had five athletes sign National Letters of Intent Wednesday.
The Wildcats’ girls soccer team had four players sign scholarship offers early Wednesday morning, and one football player pledged the next four years to continue his playing career.
The first signing of the morning came from that football player, offensive lineman Harrison Carlson. Carlson signed a scholarship offer from Washington and Lee. When asked his plans at the school, Carlson was quick to point out that he’s taking advantage of the academics.
“I’ll be studying engineering of some type, I’m not sure of a particular branch at this point,” said Carlson.
The women’s soccer team stole the show at Lake Norman, with four players committing to play at the next level, led by Cami Couch’s decision to attend Ole Miss. Teammate Alyssa Dellorso will attend UNC-Pembroke. The last two athletes to sign were Kieran Liseski, who will play at Emory & Henry, and Sam Stoney, a long-time commit to Gardner Webb.
