The Flippin Bobcats scored twice in the bottom of the sixth and kept their perfect 3A-1 East Conference record intact with a 5-3 victory over the Yellville-Summit Panthers on Thursday at the TLC Bank Sports Complex.
Landry Kopacz earned the victory on the mound for Flippin (13-1, 7-0), striking out eight and scattering five hits and three earned runs over six innings on the mound. Dean Smyser pitched one inning, striking out a pair.
Flippin managed just five hits, but one was a solo home run by Spencer Politte. Smyser drove in a pair with a double, while Tanner Theobald added a single and an RBI, Kopacz and Brenton Butcher each added singles, and Leland Campbell notched an RBI.
The teams were tied 1-1 after an inning, but Flippin plated two in the third for a 3-1 lead. Yellville-Summit scored one in the fourth and another in the top of the sixth for a 3-3 tie.
Flippin is scheduled to host Mountain View for its final conference game of the season at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
