The Flippin Bobcats outslugged Highland to pick up a 17-12 victory over the Rebels in nonconference action on Monday at Flippin.
Tanner Theobald belted a home run, two singles and drove in two runs for the Bobcats, who now are 7-1 overall after winning two of three games over the weekend.
Austin Lack earned the victory on the mound, tossing five innings in relief of starter Spencer Politte. Lack struck out six and allowed four runs, while Politte whiffed four and allowed eight runs over two innings in the start.
Dean Smyser supplied two doubles and three singles and drove in four runs for Flippin, while Landry Kopacz added two doubles, a single and four RBI, Politte notched two singles and a double, Lack added two singles and three RBI, McKane Curtis had two singles, Brenton Butcher drove in two runs, Jacob Leonard had a double and an RBI, and Leland Campbell added a single to the 20-hit Bobcat onslaught.
Flippin trailed 8-3 after a five-run top of the second by Highland, but the Bobcats scored two in the second and six in the third for an 11-8 lead. Highland scored twice in the fourth, but Flippin scored a solo tally in the fifth for a 12-10 lead and tacked on five more in the bottom of the sixth.
