The Flippin Bobcats kept their perfect 3A-1 East Conference record intact with a 51-39 victory over the Marshall Bobcats on Monday night at Bobcat Country.
Flippin (21-5, 8-0) jumped out to a 9-0 lead and held a 19-10 advantage after one quarter, a 27-15 lead at the half and a 38-24 lead after three.
Deam Smyser tossed in 18 points — including 14 in the first half — while Spencer Politte added 17, Jacob Leonard notched eight and Josh Rogers scored seven.
Flippin’s Lady Bobcats improved to 16-9 overall and 5-3 in the 3A-1 East with a 59-42 victory over Marshall.
Flippin led 12-8 after one quarter, but Marshall took a 25-23 halftime lead. Flippin regained the lead at 40-32 after a 17-7 third quarter advantage.
Hannah Butcher led Flippin with 18 points, while Micah Hudson added 17, Jessica Pace tallied 13, Karlee Wood totaled five, Abby Helmke notched four and Malaina Gonzalez chipped in two.
Marshall rolled to a 56-22 victory in the junior boys’ game. Michael Robbins and Tim McCoy led Flippin with six points each, and Devin Spoon and Clayton Fischer tossed in three apiece, and Jackson Baker and Braden Hicks chipped in two each.
