Inside the Huddle
As part of our preseason look into South Jersey football, we want to know a little bit more about some of the region’s players. Zach White, a junior quarterback, talked over a variety of things with reporter Kevin Minnick.
KM: What drew you to the quarterback position?
ZW: I like to have control of what’s going on in the offense.
KM: Who is your favorite NFL quarterback?
ZW: Right now, Peyton Manning.
KM: Do you have a favorite college team?
KM: What do you have to do to help Eastern win games?
ZW: I have to take care of the football.
KM: What’s your biggest football accomplishment?
ZW: Starting varsity as a sophomore.
KM: Play any other sports?
ZW: I threw the javelin and played basketball.
KM: What’s it like playing under the lights?
ZW: I can’t describe it. There’s nothing you can relate it to.
KM: What’s your favorite TV show?
ZW: I really don’t watch TV. I guess SportsCenter.
KM: Are you a big Twitter guy?
ZW: I’m not really into social media.
KM: How important is the relationship with your center Jacob Gruber?
ZW: It’s very important. That’s where every play starts.
KM: Did you go anywhere on vacation this summer?
ZW: I haven’t.
KM: What do you normally eat for breakfast?
ZW: Most days a bowl of cereal.
KM: What type of music do you listen to?
ZW: Anything really. Whatever is on the radio.
KM: Do you know what you’d like to do when you get out of college?
ZW: I’m undecided right now but maybe I’ll look into business as a major and do something in that field.
KM: Eastern is a big school. What’s it like between classes, getting through the halls?
ZW: A lot of people talk to you, but I try to keep to myself.
KM: What’s your favorite color?
KM: Who’s been the biggest influence on your athletic career?
ZW: Coach Gary Worthington when I was younger.
KM: If you only had a dollar in your pocket, what would you do with it?
ZW: I might call my mom or dad and ask for another dollar.
