The Florida State football team’s pipeline along the East Coast produced another commitment Friday as one of the nation’s top cornerbacks pledged to play for the Seminoles.
Levonta Taylor, rated the No. 2 cornerback in the country by 247Sports’ composite rankings, committed to FSU during an announcement at his school, Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, Va.
He recently visited FSU on March 21, attending a team spring practice where he spent time with cornerback Marcus Lewis, a 2015 signee, and defensive end Janarius Robinson, a 2016 commit.
Taylor is the 13th member of FSU’s class, which moved ahead of Miami as the No. 1 class in the 2016 cycle.
He is the second five-star prospect in FSU’s 2016 recruiting class, joining California quarterback Malik Henry, who is currently enrolled at IMG Academy in Bradenton.
