Chillicothe 45, Miami Trace 14
WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — Chillicothe went on the road and came back home with a third straight victory, Friday night, thanks to a 45-14 win over Miami Trace.
The Cavaliers (3-2, 2-0 SCOL) received a tremendous performance from senior running back Nate Rosenbauer who topped last week’s 175-yard performance with a 241-yard night on just 15 carries, including three scores.
Chillicothe used a 24-point second quarter to take a 31-0 lead into halftime. That momentum carried the Cavs through a second half that saw two more scores — a Rosenbauer 65-yard run and a Jakob Staggs 24-yard rush.
Quarterback Jack Busch finished 4-of-10 passing for 107 yards and a touchdown while senior Quintin Davidson caught three balls for 91 yards and a score.
The Cavaliers will now return home to host Hillsboro in Week 6.
Zane Trace 48, Southeastern 0
CHILLICOTHE — It was almost a repeat performance for Zane Trace, Friday night.
After beating Unioto in Week 4, 63-0, the Pioneers (5-0, 2-0 SVC) handed Southeastern a 48-0 loss, Friday night — keeping pace with unbeaten Paint Valley atop the conference.
The Panthers (1-4, 0-2 SVC) allowed a total of 245 rushing yards and 174 passing yard to the Pioneers in the loss.
Leading the way for Zane Trace was quarterback Joel Dunkle who finished the night 6-of-8 passing for 174 yards including a touchdown and interception. Truman Love followed by carrying the ball 12 times for 55 yards and two scores while tight end Timmy Gibson caught three passes for 82 yards and a touchdown.
The Panthers mustered up just 11 yards rushing on 37 carries and gained 54 through the air on nine attempts.
Zane Trace will now square off with Paint Valley at home next week while Southeastern looks for their first conference win this year against Unioto at home.
