DRESDEN – Tri-Valley has dominated the Muskingum Valley League for five straight seasons.
Friday’s result was much of the same, as the Scotties routed visiting Philo 45-7 for a fifth straight league title.
Tri-Valley (9-1, 8-0) has now won 42 straight league games, including five straight 8-0 MVL campaigns.
Cody Collins started the scoring with a 29-yard touchdown run in the first quarter then Colin Slaboden intercepted Nathan Baker and returned it 39 yards to make it 14-0 Tri-Valley after one quarter.
Tyler McGee added a 52-yard scoring run, Logan Nezbeth scored from two yards out and Chase Dinan kicked a 21-yard field goal in the second to make it 31-0 at the half.
Nezbeth and Caleb Craig had touchdowns runs in the fourth for the Scotties, while Cody Wickham scored from five yards out for the Electrics (5-5, 4-4).
McGee threw for 45 yards on 5-of-8 passing and ran for 62 more and Collins had 73 yards on 10 carries in the win.
Baker had 111 total yards to pace Philo.
Crooksville 29, John Glenn 19: The Ceramics capped a 5-5 season and a 4-4 MVL campaign with a win over the Muskies (2-8, 2-6).
The Ceramics led 23-7 at the half behind a pair of touchdown runs by Landon Hinkle and a 13-yard run by Alan Wolfe.
Chip Russell had two field goals in the second half for the Ceramics, while Matt Stewart had a pair of touchdowns in the fourth for the Muskies.
Wolfe finished with 113 yards on 15 carries, Daulton Finck ran for 102 yards on nine carries and Hinkle had 94 yards running and 36 passing in the victory.
Shane Bonner ran for 106 yards on 18 attempts and Stewart threw for 67 yards on 6-of-19 passing with two interceptions and ran for 43 on eight carries in the loss.
Maysville 47, Claymont 27: The Panthers (8-2) ended the season with a road win, but likely fell short of a playoff berth.
