Sept. 4 vs. Covington: The Tigers are in a new region this year, and they’ve been down the past few years. Covington has been down the last couple of seasons as well. This first region game will set the tone for the rest of the season. Starting with a win when the team needs three to make the playoffs would be a huge early boost.
Most important stretch
Weeks 9-11: The Tigers end the regular season with four straight home games. These are the final three. Melrose and Hamilton are two programs who make the playoffs a lot. If Bolivar doesn’t do well in its first three region games, competing in these games will be necessary. Then they need to finish well against Martin Luther King.
Sept. 18 vs. Sheffield: This is the second region game, and depending on how the first one goes, it has the opportunity to put Bolivar in a very good position or behind the eight-ball in terms of trying to make the playoffs.
Predicted regular season record:
6-4. The Tigers make it back to the playoffs and win three of four non-region games.
